Learn to Read the Quran Online with Noor Al-Bayan

If you want to learn to read the Quran online and you are starting from zero, this course is built for you. We use the Noor Al-Bayan method, a clear and visual way of teaching Quran reading, and we teach it live, one teacher with one student. By the end of the course you will open the Mushaf and read it yourself, slowly at first and then with confidence.

Reading the Quran is not the same as reading a novel in Arabic. The words carry marks that tell you exactly how to pronounce them, and a small mistake can change the meaning. That is why reading is taught by ear first: you hear your teacher, you copy, and you get corrected right away.

Who this course is for

  • Complete beginners of any age who cannot read Arabic letters yet.
  • Children from 5 years old who are ready for short, focused classes.
  • Adults and converts who want to read the Quran for themselves instead of relying on transliteration.
  • Students who learned as kids and forgot. Many people stopped after a few months of mosque classes. This course rebuilds that foundation properly.

No Arabic is needed. Your teacher explains every step in English.

Why the Noor Al-Bayan method

Noor Al-Bayan was designed to get beginners reading quickly without cutting corners. Each lesson focuses on one idea, uses large clear letters and repeats each new sound across many examples. The drills are short, which keeps children interested and lets adults practise in ten minutes a day.

It also brings in the first rules of Tajweed early, so students don't have to unlearn bad habits later. If your family already uses Noorani Qaida, that's fine too: we also run a dedicated Noorani Qaida course.

The three levels

Level 1: Letters and sounds

All the Arabic letters, their shapes and their correct points of articulation. You learn to hear the difference between similar letters, such as س and ص, or ه and ح, and to say them clearly.

Level 2: Vowels and joining

Short vowels, tanween, long vowels, sukoon and shaddah. You start joining letters into words and reading short phrases taken from the Quran.

Level 3: Reading from the Mushaf

Reading full verses, first from Juz' Amma and then from other parts of the Quran. You learn how to stop and start correctly at the end of a verse, and you practise reading longer passages without help.

Each level ends with a short reading test with your teacher. Pass it and you get a certificate for that level.

What a class looks like

A normal class has three parts. First, a quick review of the last lesson. Second, the new lesson, where the teacher reads and you repeat. Third, you read on your own while the teacher listens and corrects.

Classes are on Zoom or Google Meet, and the teacher shares the page on screen. Class length can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes. For young kids we usually start with 30.

How long it takes

Most students finish all three levels in about four to six months with three classes a week. Children under seven often need a bit longer, and adults who practise between classes can be faster. Your teacher will give you a simple plan for home practice: usually a few lines a day, no more.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can an adult learn to read the Quran? With three classes a week and a little practice at home, most adults read basic verses within two to three months and finish the course in about four.

Can I learn to read the Quran without knowing Arabic? Yes. Reading and understanding are separate skills. This course teaches you to read and pronounce correctly. If you also want to understand the words, you can add our Arabic language course later.

Is transliteration used? No. Transliteration often teaches the wrong sounds. We teach the real letters from the first class, and beginners are usually surprised by how fast they pick them up.

My child gets bored easily. Will this work? The classes for kids are short and active, with lots of praise and small rewards. The teacher changes activity every few minutes to keep attention.
