This online Islamic studies course covers what every Muslim needs to know, explained clearly and at the right level for the student. Children learn the basics of belief, prayer and good character through stories and simple examples. Adults go further into Aqeedah, Fiqh, Hadith and Seerah. Everything is taught live, one-on-one, by teachers trained at Al-Azhar.
For families living outside Muslim countries, this is often the part that's hardest to find. Weekend schools are full or far away, and children have questions that need patient, correct answers. A regular class with a teacher they trust fills that gap.
Who this course is for
- Children who are learning the basics of Islam, alongside their Quran classes.
- Teenagers with real questions about faith who want answers from a qualified teacher.
- Adults who want structured knowledge, not scattered videos.
- New Muslims learning how to pray, fast and live as a Muslim.
What you will study
Aqeedah (belief)
The pillars of Iman and Islam, the names and attributes of Allah, and why we believe what we believe, explained simply for kids and in more depth for adults.
Fiqh (practice)
Purification, wudu and ghusl, the prayer step by step, fasting, zakat and Hajj. The focus is on what you need day to day.
Seerah
The life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, from Makkah to Madinah, with lessons for today. Children also learn the stories of the Prophets mentioned in the Quran.
Hadith
Short, well-known hadith, such as the Forty Hadith of Imam An-Nawawi, with their meaning and how to apply them.
Manners and character
Respect for parents, honesty, kindness, and the adab of the mosque, the home and the Quran.
The four levels
- Foundations. The pillars of Islam and Iman, wudu and prayer, and the stories of the Prophets.
- Building blocks. Fiqh of worship in more detail, the early Seerah, and the first hadith.
- Understanding. Aqeedah in more depth, the Madinah period of the Seerah, more hadith with explanation.
- Living it. Applying knowledge in daily life, introduction to tafsir and to the sciences of hadith.
Children's lessons are adapted for age. A seven-year-old and a seventeen-year-old in level 1 will have very different classes.
How classes work
Classes are live on Zoom or Google Meet, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. The teacher uses stories, questions and short quizzes, and students are encouraged to ask about anything. Parents can join or ask the teacher to focus on a specific topic.
Price
Islamic Studies is offered at $10 per hour, so you pay only for the hours you book. You can also add it to a Quran plan. See the pricing page.

Can I ask about a specific topic? Yes. Adults often come with their own questions, and the teacher builds lessons around them.
Is this suitable for new Muslims? Very much so. Level 1 starts from the beginning and covers how to pray, step by step.
Can my child take Quran and Islamic Studies together? Yes. Many children have Quran classes most days and one Islamic Studies class a week.
